What is Candida?
Candidiasis is the medical term used to describe a yeast overgrowth that is usually found in the intestinal tract and other tissues of the body. It has become a serious problem in many countries. Everyone has a small amount of yeast and other negative microorganisms in the intestinal area, which are harmless. When the immune system and other defense capabilities are compromised, these organisms are given permission to multiply quickly and will interfere with digestion and elimination. If allowed to grow, they develop more toxins in the body. Toxins weaken the immune system, allowing illness and disease to develop.
When this overgrowth of yeast occurs, and is allowed to remain, one’s body may develop a serious problem. Doctors recognize this condition as Candida Albicans, which is a fungus of the yeast category. Though not a new problem, Candida has been over looked and misunderstood for years. Fortunately, we are beginning to respond to the extreme complications that are caused by this condition.
Yeast/Fungal overgrowth (Candidiasis) has been found to be a common denominator in the following disorders: Autism, ADD, Rett's syndrome, Colitis, Ulcerative colitis, Seizures, Depression, Child Psychosis, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Pervasive developmental disorder, Schizophrenia, Migraine headache, Alzheimer's disease, SLE, Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), Tourette's syndrome, Inflammatory bowel disease, Down's syndrome, Crohn's disease, HIV and NAIL FUNGUS. It is also present in millions of other people who cannot figure out what is wrong with them, or what to do about it.
Candida has many names and guises.
Symptoms vary from person to person and fluctuate in severity, or may come and go. Most symptoms are invisible, which makes it difficult for others to understand the vast array of debilitating symptoms with which we contend.
The immense use of antibiotics began in the early 1970’s. Only now is there a large enough population that has used a significant amount of antibiotics to realize the possible side effects. Antibiotics are powerless against yeast, but destroy bacteria, allowing yeast residing to grow unregulated. Antibiotics may also allow strains of bacteria resistant to the specific antibacterial drug to grow excessively, leading to the bacterial over growth.
Have you ever wondered why so many people are suffering with chronic fatigue and other autoimmune and auto-endocrine diseases? Could it be the over use of antibiotics? The question is a good one and worth your time to investigate.
The use of steroids (cortisone), antacids, and anti-ulcer medications, in addition to antibiotics and birth control pills, are also important contributing factors since Candida rapidly grows in the presence of these substances. Modern day diets that are extremely high in sugars are also blamed for the condition. Sugars feed and sustain fungi and yeast.
What are the symptoms of Candida?
Many common symptoms that cause discomfort in today’s society may have their root cause in Candida. Candida Albicans is a destroyer of health. It robs the body of its nutrition, poisons the tissues, and allows toxins and poisons to contribute directly, or indirectly, to the following list of possible serious conditions:
